Crafter vs Artist

Crafter definition - a creator of great skill in the manual arts

Artist definition - a person who produces paintings or drawings as a profession or hobby.  Synonyms: designer, creator, originator, producer; a person who practices any of the various creative arts, such as a sculptor, novelist, poet, or filmmaker, a person skilled at a particular task or occupation.

So in looking at the definitions I struggle to see the difference other than one person does this for a profession and the other as a hobby.  But who is it that makes the determination, other than the person themselves.

I love what I do, I create for the joy of creating and the love of the arts.  This topic has been one that has deep passion resonating inside of me.  It is how I create, how I see the world around me.  Life is all about choices and some make good choices and some not so good choices.  I choose to be positive and happy when I wake up each morning.  I was taught this by my Grandfather as a 12 year old child "with a positive attitude you will have positive results, and if you work hard you can have anything you want".  At the age of 59 it is true and I live by this statement daily.  I hear my grandfather speaking those words into my ear when I'm having a tough day....so I push harder to accomplish the tasks at hand.

I have been a creative soul my entire life, I have had numerous professions and careers over my 59 years.  But the love of the arts is one that has stuck with me the entire time.  So no matter what your skill level, do what you are passionate about.  You have talents that will take you to your goals and dreams.  I know they have for me.... wishing you sunshine and smiles from across the miles!
